Part 1 - GENERAL 1.1 RELATED DOCUMENTS A. Drawings and general provisions of Contract, including General and Supplementary Conditions and Division 1 Specification Sections, apply to this section. 1.2 SUMMARY A. This Section includes the following: Furnish all labor, materials, services, equipment and appliances required in conjunction with design, fabrication and installation of the Petrarch Exterior Cladding System as designated on the contract drawing, including, but not limited to: 1. Panels. Architect Note: This section variable. Complete as desired.

A. Single-Source Responsibility for Material: Obtain each color, grade, finish, type, and variety of material from a Single Source with resources to provide materials of consistent quality in appearance and physical properties, including the capacity to cut and finish material without delaying the progress of the work. Manufacturer shall have successfully completed at least five projects of the type, scope and quality required within the past five years. B. Single-Source Responsibility for Other Materials: Obtain each type of accessory, sealant, and other materials from one manufacturer for each product. C. Installer Qualifications: Engage an experienced installer with not less than three years successful experience in completing exterior cladding systems similar in material, design, and extent to that indicated for Project that has resulted in construction with a record of successful in-service performance. Workers shall be skilled in their designated tasks, and under the supervision of trained foremen. D. Coordination: The Contractor for the work of this section shall coordinate requirements and materials with other trades.
A. General: Submit the following in accordance with the Conditions of Contract and Division 1 Specification Sections. B. Submissions must be within 10 working days of General Contract award to avoid project delay. If not adhered to, Architect will designate exact product to be used and contractor will have no recourse. C. Product data for each type of component required including specifications, installation instructions and general recommendations from manufacturer. D. Shop Drawings including elevations and sections for all components detailing, fabrication and installation of exterior cladding system. Include cutting and setting drawings indicating sizes, dimensions, sections, and profiles of panels; arrangement and provisions for jointing, supporting, anchoring, and bonding panels; and details showing relationship with, attachment to, and reception of related work. Include large-scale details of each system component, anchorage and fastening device. Where shop drawings deviate from drawing of specification requirements, note such deviations on shop drawings and provide written explanation for deviation. E. Samples for verification purposes of exterior cladding material in the form of sets for each color, grade, finish, type, and variety of exterior cladding material required and consisting of material not less than 10 inches square. Include 2 or more samples showing the full range of variations in appearance characteristics to be expected in completed work. 1.6 JOB CONDITIONS A. Coordinate work of the Section with interfacing and adjoining work for proper sequencing of each installation. Insure best possible protection of materials and finishes. B. Contractor is responsible for
coordinating the proper placement of steel stud framing materials immediately behind the
PETRARCH Exterior Cladding System. 1.7 SEQUENCING A. Substitute Products: Alternate proposals for substitute products will not be accepted unless approved as issued in addenda. Substitute products will not be issued in addenda unless request for substitution and sufficient data and samples are furnished to the Architect for review. Samples and data must be received by the Architect 10 calendar days prior to issue data of last addenda allowable under current project schedule as determined by the Architect. B. Manufacturer’s Production Schedule:
Subcontract for the work of this section shall be placed to allow sufficient time for
manufacturer’s production and delivery scheduling. Subcontractor shall submit a
written confirmation of lead times for manufacturer’s within 10 working days of
General Contract Award. 1.8 WARRANTY A. All work of this Section shall be guaranteed against defective materials and workmanship for the period of 1 year from the date of acceptance of the building by the Owner’s representative in accordance with applicable provisions of the general condition. B. Provide manufacturer’s standard 10-year warranty for non-load bearing structural integrity for panels for a period of 10 years from the date of purchase.
PART 2 - PRODUCTS 2.1 MANUFACTURERS A. 2.2 SURFACE AND INTEGRAL FINISH A. Panels shall be composite sheets combined with natural slate granules/powder and/or calcium carbonate powder, polyester resin, glass fiber, pigments and fire retardant with homogeneous through color. Panels shall have high resistance to erosion and vandalism and shall not delaminate under any condition. B. Finish: Manufacturer’s standard random riven, smooth or shot blast texture with solid color (Petrarch) or manufacturer’s standard smooth/matt, riven, or shot blast surface with random color (Fasset). C. Color: As selected by Architect from manufacturer’s standard line of colors or factory approved special color.
2.3 THICKNESS, WEIGHT, DIMENSION AND TOLERANCES
Note: The size tolerance for Petrarch and Fasset is +/- 1/16". Because of the nature of the riven textured surface there is an additional manufacturing tolerance of +/- 1/16".
2.4 ASTM TESTING A. Petrarch panels shall meet or exceed the following ASTM test results:
Note: Typically fasteners are required at not more than 24" centers providing adequate holding to carry the dead weight of the panel and wind loading up to 40 lbs. per square foot.
2.5 MOISTURE, BIOLOGICAL AND CHEMICAL RESISTANCE A. Moisture absorption is 0.2% by weight
(24 hours total immersion), permeability 16 x 106ml/m2, apparent
porosity 1%.
2.6 TEMPERATURE RESISTANCE A. Exterior Cladding System shall not be subject to delamination or decay, after 250 cycles of temperature changes between -40锟紽 and +120锟紽.

a) .125 wall thickness, alodine treated, or anodized finished, non-recycled aluminum alloy 6063-T6. a) Dow Corning 795 or GE Ultraglaze SSG 4000 one-part structural silicone glazing sealant. (Note: Must be used with Structural Setting System.) a) Norton V2100 Series (P2106 Black) Thermalbond, 3/16" x 1/2" as manufactured by Norton Company. a) 1/8" x 11/32" x 6" Silicone Setting Blocks 80-90 Shore A Durometer. a) Norton Tite-R-Bond (2287) adhesion promoter as manufactured by Norton Company.
